Program features:

For students who are targeting US universities (especially those who are interested in Washington University in St. Louis), our program will help you better understand the US culture and US education system. This can be the perfect stepping-stone to the next stage of your education!

 

1, The Summer Program will organize social events to introduce students to American culture.

2, The Summer school builds into its programs several sessions for all students regarding various degree programs, application, and admissions procedures — therefore giving prospective students helpful guidance as they begin thinking about their application;

3,Being in residence on our campus allows summer school students to get better acquainted with the university, its departments, and faculty — thus equipping the applicant with substantive information to help him/her best articulate their interest in the university

4,Washington University cannot guarantee that a student who attends our summer school would be admitted to the university undergraduate program, but for 2015, 95% of eligible (in their final year of high school) summer pre-college students applied to Wash U, and of those that applied, 24% finally matriculated


High School Programs for Credit

 

In our High School Summer Scholars and High School College Access programs, students have the opportunity to enroll in courses and study alongside undergraduates. Students select from abroad range of stimulating introductory courses in the humanities, math,sciences, and social sciences.

 

High School Summer Scholars Program

 

High School Summer Scholars live on campus in one of our top-ranked, air-conditioned residence halls. In addition to coursework, students participate in college-readiness seminars, academic support groups, and a variety of weekend and evening social events. Scholarship assistance is available for students who demonstrate financial need. We offer three different sessions:

               

Session A: June 10-July 14 ($8,085)

Session B: July 15-August 17 ($8,085)

Session C: June 10-Augus t4 ($10,585)

 

High School College Access Program

 

Through High School College Access, St. Louis area students enroll in courses while commuting from home. Online courses are also available for students living both in and outside of the St. Louis area.

 

Eligibility for High School Programs for Credit

·        Current sophomore or junior in high school

·        Minimum B+ GPA

·        Combined SAT of at least 1200 or ACT of at least25

·        TOEFL score of at least 90 for international applicants

 

High School Summer Institutes-Noncredit Programs

 

In our High School Summer Institutes, students explore a specialized interest or major. Traditional undergraduate course and lab curriculum are combined with field trips, guest lectures, and hands-on activities in order to expand students’ critical thinking skills in a challenging and innovative environment. Scholarship assistance is available for students who demonstrate financial need.

 

Students in our High School Summer Institutes live on campus for the duration of their program. In addition to their coursework, students participate in college-readiness seminars, workshops, and a variety of weekend and evening social events. We offer a number of institutes:

 

·        Pre-Medical: June 10-29 or July 15-August 3($5,585)

·        Pre-Engineering: June 10-29 or July 15-August 3($5,585) 

·        Creative Writing: July 1-13 ($3,885)

·        Global Leadership: July 1-13 ($3,885)

·        Environmental Studies: July 1-13 ($3,885)

·        Philosophy, Neuroscience, and Psychology: July1-13 ($3,885)

·        Humanities: Politics and the Arts: July 1-13($3,885)

·        Young Leaders: August 5-11 ($1,985)

 

Eligibility for High School Institutes

·     Current freshman, sophomore, or junior in highschool

·        Minimum B+ GPA

·        TOEFL score of at least 90 or equivalent for international applicants
